Defined administrative authority for a sensitive family or inheritance matter

This service prepares a tailored POA for a living principal who meets the capacity and age requirements of the applicable channel and wants an agent to complete clearly identified, delegable administrative steps connected with a family or inheritance matter. The requested task must be distinguished from matters that require proof of status, a succession or court process, another approval or personal attendance. A POA does not replace a will or the applicable court process.

You can pay now with Review and pay and upload the documents afterwards through the case upload link supplied for the order. Payment opens your file. We review the intended task, the receiving organisation, supporting evidence and execution route before drafting. If your matter is uncertain or unusual, use Find my POA route before paying.

Who this service is for

This service is for a living principal who meets the capacity and age requirements of the applicable channel, already has a relevant role or entitlement, and wants an agent to handle defined family or inheritance administration that can be delegated. Under Article 84 of the current UAE Civil Transactions Law, the age of majority is 18 Gregorian years. Capacity and channel evidence remain case-specific. Eligibility is confirmed before drafting. This service is not suitable where the main requirement is to establish rights, determine inheritance, obtain a court order or conduct legal proceedings.

What the tailored scope can cover

Where the principal already has the relevant right or role and the recipient permits delegation, selected powers can include:

  • signing, submitting and collecting defined administrative documents
  • liaising with a named organisation about the agreed family or inheritance file
  • obtaining records or completing procedural follow-ups
  • acting for an heir or beneficiary who meets the applicable capacity and age requirements, for specified administrative steps after the required status or entitlement has been established
  • completing another clearly identified act that the living principal is entitled and permitted to delegate

The POA authorises the agent to perform stated acts. It does not create family status, heirship, entitlement or court authority.

What this service does not cover

This service does not provide or replace:

  • a will, succession plan, inheritance determination or proof of heirship
  • authority purportedly granted by a deceased person
  • guardianship, custody, adoption, marriage, divorce or medical decision-making
  • a court order, probate or succession process, litigation or court representation
  • distribution of an estate before the required entitlement and recipient processes are complete
  • legal advice about rights, shares, disputes or family law
  • any service outside POAS.ae’s ten listed POA services

If the intended outcome cannot be achieved through a supported POA, it will not be recast as a generic Special POA merely to progress the order.

The inheritance transfer itself — the DLD step that follows the court process, and what heirs outside the UAE face — is covered at inheritancetransfer.ae/foreign-heirs/.

Who does what

POAS.ae is an independent private service operated by Cendale Documents Clearing Services FZCO. POAS prepares the document and coordinates the supported execution route. An independent private notary licensed by Dubai Courts performs the regulated notarial act and decides the identity, supporting-evidence and attendance requirements. The relevant authority, court office, estate administrator, bank or other recipient applies its own requirements and makes its own acceptance decision.

POAS.ae is not a government authority, court, notary or law firm. It does not determine inheritance, establish family status or provide legal advice.

Documents and information usually requested

Upload identity and case documents only through the case upload link supplied for the order. Do not send passport or Emirates ID images, card details, PINs, passwords or one-time codes in ordinary email, WhatsApp or telephone messages.

  • the living principal’s passport and Emirates ID, if applicable
  • the agent’s passport or Emirates ID
  • a plain-language description of the exact administrative result required
  • the name and location of the receiving organisation
  • documents showing the principal’s existing role or entitlement, where relevant
  • reference numbers, certificates, recipient forms or written instructions
  • the identity of other relevant parties where needed to describe the matter accurately
  • any requested limits on the agent’s authority

The private notary or receiving organisation may require additional originals, translations, certificates, evidence or personal attendance.

How it works

  1. Open your file. Pay AED 1,899 + VAT.
  2. Upload the matter details. Provide the identities, purpose, supporting status or entitlement records and recipient instructions through the case upload link.
  3. Review the requested task. We check whether it appears to fit the supported POA service and execution route before drafting. POAS does not make a legal determination of rights or succession.
  4. Approve the tailored draft. You verify the people, underlying matter, powers, limits and receiving organisation.
  5. Complete the applicable execution route. An independent private notary licensed by Dubai Courts reviews the evidence and decides whether and how the notarial act can proceed.
  6. Receive the completed document. We provide the available completed POA for the recipient’s own review and process.

Timing

Our target is preparation and coordinated notarisation by the next business day once payment, complete identity and supporting records, identity checks and draft approval are in place. Sensitive records, eligibility questions, recipient requirements, private-notary availability and court workload can extend the timing. Any later court, succession or recipient process has its own timetable. This is a target, not a guarantee.

Scope changes and refunds

If another POAS service or execution route is required, we explain the change before drafting. If the correct route costs less, we refund the difference. If it costs more, we obtain approval before collecting the balance. If POAS cannot provide the selected service and no available alternative is accepted, the professional fee is refunded under the Refund Policy.

If a document cannot be used for the agreed delegable purpose because of a POAS drafting or scope error, we correct it without another POAS professional fee. If it cannot be corrected for that agreed purpose, we refund the POAS professional fee. Lack of underlying entitlement, a required court process, recipient discretion and separately incurred third-party charges remain outside that promise where they are unrelated to POAS drafting or scope.

Frequently asked questions

Can a deceased person grant a POA?

No. This service is for a living principal who meets the capacity and age requirements of the applicable channel. An heir or beneficiary who meets those requirements may be able to appoint an agent for defined acts that the heir or beneficiary is entitled to delegate, subject to the required evidence and recipient process.

Does this POA prove that I am an heir or set my inheritance share?

No. A POA delegates stated authority; it does not determine heirship, create an entitlement or replace the relevant succession or court process.

Can it cover a court inheritance case?

No. POAS does not provide litigation or court-representation services. This service is limited to administrative acts that can be delegated and completed through the supported notarial route.

Can it be used for guardianship or child-custody decisions?

No. Guardianship, custody and similar status-based decisions are outside this service.

What supporting evidence will I need?

It depends on the intended act and recipient. Send the certificates, status or entitlement documents, case references, forms and written instructions you have. The private notary or recipient may request more.

What happens if a POA is not the correct instrument?

We explain that before drafting. If POAS cannot provide the selected service and no available alternative is accepted, the professional fee is refunded under the Refund Policy.
