When a General Power of Attorney is the right fit
Choose this service when the same agent needs practical authority across several connected matters over a period of time. Depending on your instructions and the receiving organisation’s requirements, the tailored powers may cover:
- submitting, signing and collecting routine documents
- corresponding and following up with named public or private organisations
- managing defined day-to-day administrative affairs
- receiving records, certificates or correspondence
- taking other recurring actions that are expressly written into the POA and accepted by the receiving organisation
We do not insert every conceivable power by default. The document is built around the outcome, receiving organisations and limits you approve.
What this service does not cover
A General Power of Attorney is not a substitute for a purpose-specific document when the receiving organisation expects exact wording. This service does not cover:
- selling or transferring a property
- managing a property or tenancy
- buying, selling or registering a vehicle
- operating a bank account
- granting authority on behalf of a company
- a defined family or inheritance administration matter
- revoking an existing POA
- court representation, legal proceedings, wills, guardianship, medical decisions or a service outside the ten published POAS.ae services
Use the relevant purpose-specific service where one applies. If the purpose does not fit one of the ten published services, POAS.ae will not turn it into a generic General Power of Attorney.
Who this service is for
This service is for a principal who wants one named agent to handle several clearly described, connected personal or administrative matters. It can be useful when the principal travels frequently, lives away from the place where tasks must be completed or wants continuity for routine affairs.
You nominate the agent. POAS.ae does not supply or act as the agent under this service.
What POAS.ae coordinates
POAS.ae is operated by Cendale Documents Clearing Services FZCO. POAS.ae prepares Power of Attorney documents and coordinates notarisation through independent private notaries licensed by Dubai Courts. For this service, we prepare the document around the agreed purpose, provide the document checklist and manage drafting corrections.
POAS.ae is not a court, government authority, law firm or notary. The independent private notary performs the notarial act and makes the execution decision. The organisation asked to accept or rely on the POA applies its own requirements and retains its own acceptance decision.
Remote processing is available only where the notary accepts it; some cases require in-person or additional verification. Original documents or further identity and authority evidence may also be required.
Information and documents usually required

The private notary or receiving organisation may request additional identification, original documents, attendance or supporting evidence after reviewing the case.
How it works

- Upload the case details. Provide the principal’s and agent’s documents, the intended powers and the organisations expected to rely on the POA through that case upload link.
- Confirm the scope and route. We check whether a General Power of Attorney is the right one of the ten supported services and identify the required execution route before drafting.
- Approve the tailored draft. Check every name, identity detail, power, receiving organisation and limit before execution.
- Complete the required execution. We coordinate the applicable route. Current Dubai Courts guidance states that online POA attestation requires the concerned parties to hold valid Emirates IDs and that a person holding only a passport and no Emirates ID must appear in person before the notary. The applicable official or notarial channel sets any further identity, attendance and verification requirements.
- Receive the completed document. We send the available digital document and practical next-step instructions.
If the correct supported service or route costs less, POAS.ae refunds the difference. If it costs more, we obtain your approval before collecting the balance or drafting.
Timing
Our target is preparation and coordinated notarisation by the next business day once payment, complete documents, identity checks and draft approval are in place. It can take longer if information is incomplete or private-notary or Dubai Courts capacity is constrained. This is a target, not a guarantee.
The POA Fit Promise
Before drafting, POAS.ae reviews the requested powers, receiving organisation, authority evidence, identity documents and signing route. If the selected route is not workable and you do not accept an available alternative, the POAS professional fee is refunded under the Refund Policy.
If a POA prepared by POAS.ae cannot be used for the purpose agreed with you because we selected the wrong supported POA type or made a drafting or scope error, we will correct the document without another POAS professional fee. If we cannot correct it for that agreed purpose, we will refund the POAS professional fee.
The promise does not cover changed instructions; inaccurate, incomplete or late information; a change in law or receiving-organisation policy after approval; an action outside the agreed scope; an independent decision made for reasons unrelated to POAS.ae’s drafting; failure to complete the required signing, notarisation or notification process; or any third-party charge.
Frequently asked questions
Is a General Power of Attorney unlimited?
No. Its scope is determined by the instrument read with applicable law. General wording ordinarily grants management powers under Article 871 of the current UAE Civil Transactions Law, and authority includes necessary appurtenances under Article 872; disposals and other acts requiring special authority must be expressly stated. Each receiving organisation also applies its own requirements. We recommend including only the authority the agent needs.
Should I choose a General or Special Power of Attorney?
Choose General when one agent needs several connected, ongoing powers. Choose Special when the agent needs to complete one defined act or a tightly limited set of steps. If you select the wrong service, POAS.ae will reclassify the file within the ten supported services before drafting and reconcile the price with you.
Can I use it to sell property or operate a bank account?
Do not assume so. Those receiving organisations commonly require purpose-specific wording. Choose the Property Sale Power of Attorney or Bank Account Power of Attorney service so the relevant scope can be prepared.
Can I restrict the agent?
Yes. Tell us the actions, receiving organisations, value limits, time limits or other boundaries you require. Any restriction remains subject to the private notary’s execution decision and the receiving organisation’s acceptance requirements.
Does the agent need to attend the notarisation?
Attendance and identity-verification requirements are set by the independent private notary for the particular case. We confirm the required participants after the route review.
Is next-business-day completion guaranteed?
No. It is our target once payment, complete documents, identity checks and draft approval are in place. Customer response time, additional verification and private-notary or Dubai Courts capacity can extend the timeline.
What happens if the POA does not work?
If the cause is POAS.ae selecting the wrong supported POA type or making a drafting or scope error against the agreed purpose, we correct it without another POAS professional fee. If we cannot correct it for that purpose, we refund the professional fee. Independent acceptance decisions and third-party costs remain outside the promise.
