Vehicle Power of Attorney (UAE)

A Vehicle Power of Attorney authorises an agent to act on your behalf for defined vehicle-related actions in the UAE. The POA must match the exact action you need (sale, purchase, registration, renewal, transfer, plates, insurance-related administration) and the receiving entity’s requirements.

What it’s commonly used for

This POA is commonly used for:

  • buying or selling a vehicle on your behalf
  • transferring vehicle ownership and completing required administrative steps
  • vehicle registration, renewal, and related procedures
  • handling plate-related processes where permitted
  • completing practical follow-ups with the relevant entity for the defined scope

What it’s not designed for (important)

A Vehicle POA is scope-specific. It is not intended for broad “all matters” authority, and it may not be accepted for actions outside the defined vehicle mandate.

Also: acceptance can vary depending on the receiving entity’s processes and any required identity verification. We reduce rejection risk through scope checks, but final acceptance is always the recipient’s decision.

What you get (included)

  • POA suitability check (vehicle scope vs other POA types)
  • scope confirmation matched to your intended vehicle action
  • drafting aligned to typical UAE acceptance requirements
  • notarisation route coordination (UAE or abroad)
  • document checklist and submission steps
  • digital delivery once executed

What we need from you

To confirm the correct scope quickly, we’ll usually ask for:

  • passport copy (principal) + Emirates ID (if applicable)
  • passport/Emirates ID (agent)
  • the exact action needed (sell, buy, register, transfer, renew, etc.)
  • vehicle details if available (plate number, chassis/VIN, registration card copy)
  • any recipient requirements you’ve been given (if relevant)

How we reduce rejection risk

Before drafting, we confirm:

  • the POA includes explicit vehicle authority wording aligned to your requested action
  • the scope is clear, limited, and matches what recipients typically accept
  • the correct execution route based on where you are signing (UAE or abroad), including attestation/legalisation where required

If a Vehicle POA isn’t the right structure for your purpose, we’ll tell you before you commit.

Optional add-on: POAS.ae to act as your agent

You can appoint a POAS.ae-provided agent to act on your behalf for an additional AED 1,000. Scope must be clearly defined in the POA, and recipient acceptance requirements may still apply.
