POA Revocation / Cancellation (UAE)

A POA Revocation / Cancellation is the process of formally withdrawing a Power of Attorney that you previously issued. This usually involves a revocation document executed through an accepted channel, plus practical steps to ensure third parties stop relying on the old POA.

What it’s commonly used for

This is commonly used when:

  • you no longer want the agent to have authority
  • the relationship or purpose has ended
  • you are replacing an earlier POA with a new one
  • a third party (bank, developer, authority) requires proof that the old POA is no longer valid

What revocation does (and what it doesn’t)

Revocation does:

  • formally cancels the authority you granted to the agent (from the effective revocation point)
  • creates a document you can present to banks/authorities/counterparties as evidence

Revocation doesn’t automatically:

  • notify every third party who may have relied on the POA
  • undo actions already taken under a valid POA before revocation
  • override recipient-specific processes (some recipients require their own internal steps)

For practical protection, it’s often necessary to notify the agent and relevant recipients after revocation.

What you get (included)

  • review of the POA being revoked (where available)
  • confirmation of the correct revocation route (UAE or abroad)
  • drafting of revocation wording aligned to typical UAE acceptance requirements
  • notarisation route coordination (UAE or abroad)
  • checklist for notifying relevant parties (where needed)
  • digital delivery once executed

What we need from you

To revoke efficiently, we’ll usually ask for:

  • a copy of the POA you want to revoke (if you have it)
  • passport copy (principal) + Emirates ID (if applicable)
  • details of the agent (name and ID if available)
  • where the original POA was executed (UAE or abroad, if known)
  • who needs to be notified (bank/authority/developer/counterparty), if relevant

How we reduce rejection risk

Before drafting, we confirm:

  • the revocation is structured to match how the original POA was executed
  • the correct execution route based on where you are signing (UAE or abroad), including attestation/legalisation where required
  • whether any recipient is likely to require additional steps beyond the revocation document

If revocation isn’t the right step for your situation, we’ll tell you before you commit.

Yes. You can pay now and send your documents/details afterwards by WhatsApp or email. We’ll still confirm scope and structure before drafting.

Yes — and it’s recommended if you’re unsure. Upload first, we review and confirm the correct POA type/scope, then you proceed once everything is clear.

Typically: passport copy (principal), Emirates ID (if applicable), passport/Emirates ID (agent), and a short description of what the POA needs to achieve. Some cases also require recipient details (bank/authority/developer) and supporting documents depending on where you are signing.

Yes. We’ll confirm the correct overseas execution route and whether attestation/legalisation is required for UAE use, based on where you are signing and where the POA will be used.

Yes — you can appoint a POAS.ae-provided agent to act on your behalf for an additional AED 1,000. This is an optional add-on used when you need a trusted local representative to carry out the authorised actions. Scope must be clearly defined in the POA, and recipient acceptance requirements may still apply.
