General Power of Attorney

A General Power of Attorney (GPOA) appoints an agent to act on your behalf across multiple ongoing matters, rather than one single transaction. It’s designed for situations where you need continuity — not a one-off signature.

What it’s commonly used for

A General POA is typically suitable for:

  • general representation when you are abroad or unavailable
  • administrative follow-ups and practical matters (where broad authority is accepted)
  • managing day-to-day affairs that require ongoing authority
  • signing routine documents on your behalf, where permitted

What it’s not designed for (important)

A General POA is not automatically accepted for every high-risk or tightly regulated action — even if the wording is broad.
You may need a Special POA (task-specific wording) for:

  • selling / transferring property (often requires explicit “sell/transfer” authority and property details)
  • certain bank actions (banks often require specific clauses and may require their own forms)
  • court / litigation representation (typically needs litigation-specific authority)
  • company matters (usually requires a Corporate POA plus supporting company documents)
  • any action where the recipient requires exact wording for compliance

What you get (included)

  • POA suitability check (General vs Special, plus scope confirmation)
  • Drafting aligned to typical UAE acceptance requirements
  • Notarisation route coordination (based on your location)
  • Document checklist and clear submission steps
  • Digital delivery once executed

What we need from you

To confirm the right structure quickly, you’ll be asked for:

  • passport copy (principal)
  • Emirates ID (if applicable)
  • passport / Emirates ID (agent)
  • a short description of what you want the agent to do
  • recipient requirements (bank / authority name), if relevant

How we prevent rejection

Before drafting, we confirm:

  • whether General POA is the correct structure (or if you need Special / Corporate / Litigation wording)
  • the scope language that matches your intended use
  • the correct execution route based on where you are signing (UAE or abroad), including attestation/legalisation where required.

If General POA isn’t suitable for your purpose, we’ll tell you before you commit.

Yes. You can pay now and send your documents/details afterwards by WhatsApp or email. We’ll still confirm scope and structure before drafting.

Yes — and it’s recommended if you’re unsure. Upload first, we review and confirm the correct POA type/scope, then you proceed once everything is clear.

Typically: passport copy (principal), Emirates ID (if applicable), passport/Emirates ID (agent), and a short description of what the POA needs to achieve. Some cases also require recipient details (bank/authority/developer) and supporting documents depending on where you are signing.

Yes. We’ll confirm the correct overseas execution route and whether attestation/legalisation is required for UAE use, based on where you are signing and where the POA will be used.

Yes — you can appoint a POAS.ae-provided agent to act on your behalf for an additional AED 1,000. This is an optional add-on used when you need a trusted local representative to carry out the authorised actions. Scope must be clearly defined in the POA, and recipient acceptance requirements may still apply.
